Each week for the next five weeks, I will give tips on natural skincare. This is my way of helping you to get back to being natural without having to spend a lot of money, time, or effort. We at Just Elayne Naturals believe that incorporating these natural skincare habits into your daily routine will make you feel and look your best. We will be doing a five-week series on skincare tips. This week we will focus on the eyes. It is said that looking into the eyes is like a look into one’s soul. We are not certain of that, but you can’t go wrong by giving attention to your eyes. Our eyes can give others a clue as to whether or not we are rested or tired and, in some cases, young versus mature. The tip today is meant to provide information on how to renew and give vigor to your eyes. So, let’s get started!

Tip#1 Rejuvenate Your Eyes

Our eyes love to show our current physical and mental state. This means that when you’re exhausted, it’s one of the first things that people around you will notice. Thanks to the power of caffeine, though, you don’t have to look too far for a natural way to de-puff your peepers!

So why do so many people turn to caffeine to brighten their eyes? There are several reasons, actually. First of all, caffeine brightens our skin and helps to remove those pesky dark circles. You know, the ones that like to hang out under our eyes. In addition to decreasing the appearance of those dark circles, caffeine also helps our skin reduce inflammation when it’s puffed up.  Caffeine actually constricts the blood vessels right underneath our skin, and by doing so, we get our regular skin tone back. There are plenty of eye treatments on the market that promise to do all of this, but buyer beware. Steer clear of those with too many chemicals, and look for products primarily made up of caffeine and B vitamins. Better yet, try this easy at-home remedy. But before you do, start with a clean face. Try our black facial soap.  It is specially formulated with ingredients that are good for those moments when you need it the most. Our black soap is made with activated charcoal, which acts like a magnet that attracts and absorbs the dirt and oil in your skin. The main ingredients in our black soap include French Green Clay, a detoxifying ingredient. Like Activated charcoal which attaches itself to the toxins and is rinsed away when you wash your face. All of our base oils are organic and include coconut oil which is well-known for its contribution of Vitamin E and its anti-aging properties.   Olive oil is emollient and known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It is naturally high in antioxidants, protects the skin from being damaged, and gives it time to heal. Then, there is Palm oil, one of the finest oils to have in a facial soap. Palm oil contains beta carotene, a natural source of vitamins A, C, E, with antioxidant properties known for protecting the cells from the damaging effects of harmful free radicals. These are just a few beneficial ingredients in our facial soap. If you don’t see these ingredients in your facial bar soap, I would question just how good is the soap. So, make sure you start with a good natural facial soap to clean your face.

Now that we have discussed the benefits of using a good natural facial soap; Let’s get back to discussing caffeine and its ability to relieve puffy and dark circles under the eyes. Rather than spending your precious money on expensive caffeine eye creams, try this tip—steep two caffeinated teabags in hot water for about a minute or so. I usually use green tea bags. Hence, green tea is loaded with antioxidants, and it does contain caffeine. This is just my preference. But, use whatever caffeine tea bag of your choosing. Then place both of them on a plate and put them in your refrigerator to chill.  Once they’re nice and cold, put one on each of your closed eyelids for up to 15 minutes. Voila! Goodbye tired eyes and hello, sunshine! To really see the difference, consider taking a before and after shot of your eyes. As always consult with your doctor before trying anything new. That’s it for today; stay with us for the next few weeks—more skincare tips to come.
